How to install Dhivehi fonts in Linux

Assalaam Alaikum

In this post, I will show you how to install Dhivehi fonts in a Linux distro. For this tutorial, I am using an Ubuntu flavored distro (Kubuntu 16.4). Hence, it might be slightly different for the other Linux distro such as Arch Linux.

Simply follow these steps

Step 1: Download the following file >> Fonts

Step 2: Go to your home directory (eg: /home/username/) and hit Ctrl+h to see hidden folders.

Step 3: Look for ".fonts" folder. If the folder ".fonts" does not exist, create a one with the name.

Step 4: Extract the downloaded fonts and copy or cut paste the .ttf fonts into ".fonts" folder.

Step 5: Go to the setting and look for "Keyboard". On keyboard go to the Layout tab.

Step 6: Untick "Use system defaults" option in layout tab and add Dhivehi by going thru the add option.

That's all. Share with colleagues :)

Note: This method only works in Current user.
